Holland Union Building
Dickinson undertook an extensive renovation of the HUB, aiming to create a modern, future-focused space that elevates the student experience. The project includes major enhancements to the dining hall, such as installing new serving stations, updating equipment, and introducing a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.
Both the upper and lower levels were opened to allow natural light to flow into the dining hall and lobby, fostering vibrant student-gathering areas. Significant improvements were also made to the Britton Plaza and College Street entrances to bolster accessibility and campus integration.
The renovation further addresses the replacement of atrium stair treads, a comprehensive mechanical system overhaul requiring the demolition and reconstruction of suspended ceilings, selective demolition to enable installation of upgraded mechanical units, and the application of new paint throughout to ensure a unified and modern interior.
