J.D. Eckman

Building J.D. Eckman’s corporate office was not your typical design / build project. The Eckman’s self-performed the site construction and oversaw the utilities component of the projecg. Benchmark instantly embraced this partnership and together we produced a remarkable 28,370 SF office building.

The building features 19 private offices, two conference rooms, accounting area, staff lounge and large open area for the construction department. The main lobby is detailed with a drystack stone veneer wall, stone flooring, and detailed wood trim finishes. The ceiling features exposed spiral ductwork and seven 8,000 lb radius timber trusses made from Douglas Fir glue-laminated timber. The roof decking supporting these trusses is 20 inches wide by 5 inches thick spanning lengths up to 54 inches.
