Home2 Suites by Hilton, Ephrata
The Home2 Suites by Hilton is a new hotel located in Ephrata, PA. The four-story, 62,785 SF hotel features 107 guest rooms and provides guests with a full range of amenities including an indoor swimming pool, personal fitness center, complimentary hot breakfast, and it is pet friendly.
Before construction could get underway, the project building pad had to be brought up to the required grade elevation. To accomplish this, outside fill was brought in and compacted to meet load-bearing requirements. In addition to the grade challenges, a gravity retaining wall and storm system off the south side of the building needed to be installed prior to the building pad completion.
The building structure is comprised of a wood frame and fastening system (Simpson Strong-Tie) which requires extreme attention to detail. The building envelope is an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) with aluminum windows and storefront.
