Benchmark Construction receives National Safety Award
Brownstown, PA – Benchmark Construction Company, Inc. was awarded the 2015 National Excellence in Construction Safety Merit Award on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the 26th annual Excellence in Construction awards celebration in Fort Lauderdale, FL, as part of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) “Workforce Week.” The award was accepted on Benchmark’s behalf by Phillip Ireland, Safety Director and Chris Smith, Vice President of Operations.
Benchmark won the National Safety Merit Award for its continued commitment to jobsite safety and performance in 2015. The selection process is judged on data submitted via STEP applications, essay questions and video interviews conducted by the members of ABC’s National Environment, Health & Safety Committee. The National Safety Excellence Award competition is open to all STEP Diamond, Platinum and Gold recipients. In June of 2015, Benchmark was recognized with the prestigious Platinum level Safety Award through the 2015 National ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program.
Benchmark’s Safety Department works to support, educate and train its office and field staff, as well as specialty contractors and owner’s personnel to maintain a safety-conscious culture on every project.
