How you will make an impact:

  • Blueprint Mastery: Study blueprints, sketches, and building plans to prepare layouts, determine dimensions, and select materials.
  • Foundation & Concrete Work: Lay out footers, foundations, and reinforcement for concrete, ensuring precise finishes and accurate placement.
  • Framing & Structural Work: Perform layout, framing, and installation of structural components, including piers, anchor bolts, and rough openings.
  • Exterior & Interior Finishes: Install exterior sheathing, moisture barriers, and weatherproofing. Complete interior finishes, including drywall, doors, trim, and bathroom accessories.
  • Quality Control: Monitor subcontractors to ensure quality craftsmanship for exterior and interior finishes, including masonry, glass, and casework.
  • Door & Hardware Installation: Accurately set metal and wood door frames, installing doors and hardware to exact specifications.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Follow established safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and recognize jobsite hazards to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Embrace training opportunities to stay current on best practices and continue developing your skill set.

What You Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • Experience & Training: A minimum of 3 years of experience gained through on-the-job training, vocational school, technical college, or a formal apprenticeship program.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Proven ability to read and accurately interpret architectural, structural, and site blueprints, along with associated shop drawings.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to receive, understand, and execute complex verbal or written instructions in English, ensuring clarity and precision on the job.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have dependable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Certifications: OSHA 10-hour certification and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are required to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Commercial Construction Expertise: A strong foundational understanding of commercial construction processes and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to independently solve problems in the field by adapting to changing conditions and ensuring solutions align with project goals.
  • Mathematical Competence: Quick and accurate ability to solve mathematical problems, including basic arithmetic, fractions, and measurements.
  • Team & Independence: Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team, contributing to shared success.
  • Tools & Techniques: Ownership and proficient use of all hand tools on the carpenter tool list, with a solid understanding of their proper application.
  • Team-Oriented: Demonstrates strong teamwork skills, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
