WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, Benchmark Construction break ground on new Surgical Suite project

Lancaster PA – Benchmark Construction Company, Inc. of Brownstown, PA broke ground recently for the construction of the new WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital Surgical Suite Relocation and Renovation project at 169 Martin Avenue in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County. The $16 million hospital expansion will include centralized surgical facilities, expand the OB/GYN practice to 14 exam rooms, increase the total number of operating rooms from nine to ten and offer shell space for future physician offices.

Construction will begin this month and is anticipated to be completed in late 2016. Benchmark has named Cary Zamilski as the Project Manager and Chad Updegrave will be the on-site Superintendent. Mr. Zamilski and Mr. Updegrave previously worked on the Emergency Department expansion and renovation project at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital from 2012 to 2013.
