The Inn at Millersville University

Reminiscent of a classic Lancaster County country inn, The Inn at Millersville, a Best Western franchise, was built to serve the needs of conference participants, student parents and others who visit Millersville State University.
The rustically-designed hotel uniquely departs from standard franchise design to feature natural fieldstone and opaque stained, beveled cedar siding, accent latticework and a random cedar-shingle-style (fiberglass) roof common to historic area inns. Copper flashing with soldered joints adds another touch of country authenticity. The hotel was strategically placed on a 20-acre country-like tract that overlooks open fields. The $2.3 million, 28,000 square foot hotel has 59 rooms on two floors, including a Presidential Suite and University Suite. Each suite features a gas fireplace in its living room area. The Presidential Suite also has a completely furnished mini-kitchen.
The Inn was built using a wood truss, metal frame structure and floor system with welded steel studding, which facilitated construction. All main-feed interior piping, HVAC ductwork, and sprinkler system piping are hidden within the hall ceilings. The compact fit required Benchmark to provide detailed schedule coordination and planning that assigned precise positioning for all service installations.
The Inn, although a modern hotel, has the authentic country inn look that´s just right for its setting. The project demonstrates Benchmark´s versatility and skill at meeting this quality challenge.
