Benchmark Construction Company, Inc. has been awarded a contract to renovate 28,000 square feet of the existing Central YMCA in downtown Reading. This renovation will reposition the Reading YMCA to meet the growing needs of the community.

Twenty-seven new single room occupancy housing units are being refreshed and upgraded to address the growing homeless population. The project will result in enlarging the child care capacity by 120-150 children daily by adding a youth adventure center, an interactive center and new classrooms. Also included in this renovation is a kitchen, lounge, laundry and bathroom facility updates. Benchmark is working in partnership with the volunteers at the YMCA to help champion this renovation and make it a success.
