Benchmark Construction’s Jason Shenk was awarded a gold medal at the ABC Keystone Chapter Construction Rodeo’s Carpentry Competition on Sunday, September 28th. The annual craft apprenticeship carpentry competition features fourth-year apprentices from ABC member companies. The top four apprentices in the class compete in the carpentry competition. Shenk’s gold medal will allow him the opportunity to compete at a national level in Hawaii in late February. Benchmark has produced the ABC Keystone Chapter Champion eight out of the last eleven years. Troy Boyer and Shawn O’Connell, both Benchmark employees, won first and second place, respectively, in the open division carpentry contest. The Rodeo encourages people to come out and learn more about the construction industry while supporting the Make-A-Wish® Foundation and the Merit Shop Scholarship Fund.
